2017 “The Vietnamization of Personalism, The Role of Missionaries in the Spread of Personalism in Vietnam, 1930–1961” French Colonial History 17, pp. 103–134.
Once the 1955 referendum transformed the State of Vietnam into a Republic, Personalism became the guiding ideology of Ngô Đình Diệm's government. The purpose of this articule is to show, through the intellectual journey of two missionaries, Alexis Cras et Fernand Parrel, how French Personalism spread and transformed into a truly Vietnamese political thought.
